About the stadium

Opened in 2010 on the edge of Guadalajara, Estadio Akron is the home of Chivas, one of Mexico’s most popular clubs. Its grass-covered banks and cloud-like roof make it one of the country’s most distinctive grounds.

It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2011 Pan American Games and the second leg of the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League final, and stages World Cup group matches in 2026.
