About the stadium
Opened in 2010 on the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, MetLife Stadium is shared by the NFL’s Giants and Jets and is one of the most-attended stadiums in the league. With a tournament capacity of around 82,500 it is the biggest ground of the 2026 finals.
Football has become part of its identity: it staged the 2016 Copa América Centenario final, a 2024 Copa América semi-final and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, and on 19 July 2026 it crowns the first 48-team World Cup.
