Kelvin Pires

Kelvin Pires is a towering Cape Verdean centre-back who built his career in Slovakia with AS Trenčín before moving to Finnish top-flight club SJK. He made his international debut in 2021 and earned a place in Cape Verde's 2026 World Cup squad.

Pires began his professional career with Batuque FC in Cape Verde before joining Slovak club AS Trenčín in 2020, where he made 52 league appearances across four seasons. In February 2024 he joined SJK in Finland on loan, then signed permanently in November 2024.

He debuted for Cape Verde in a 2022 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria in September 2021 and has since earned 4 caps with 1 international goal.
